Weather you do or weather you don't

I thought I had better try and come up with a relevant and topical heading to try and match up to Simon's blog writing skills!

The text I recieved from our Chairman about the half marathon in Prague was very descriptive about the heat and humidity! However, I'm not sure I believe him because Simon and Michelle both finished in excellent times of 1.41 and 2.13 respectively. Well done both.

There were a few Jolly Holly Joggers out at Ripon yesterday - did anyone wear their Santa hats? It must have been strange running that race in the warmth of spring. I remember needing ice skates last year. So well done to everyone who ran - I understand Mike Deacon was first home and there was a battle to the finish between Fiona and Christine but I haven't got all the details of everyones results.

Annie and Judy and Debbie ran the Blubberhouses 25 today which I'm very jealous about as I have had to sit around being lazy resting ready for next weekend! Well done girls hope you all had a great day out.

If you are racing please remember to let Simon know your results and what the race was like so that he can make you famous in the Harrogate Advertiser! Also, if you do a particularly interesting race, or if you have a good experience at a race (or bad I suppose!) why don't you write a race report for the web site? There's only one on there so far but it would be great to some more....Annie, Judy and Bob what about one from the Grizedale race? Particularly with Bob doing so well on his come back race? You could write something on word or on email and send it to me so that Mark can put it on the web site. Photos too if you can.

This week is two normal club runs as there is no training on Tuesday as I already mentioned. Good Luck to anyone doing the fell race at the weekend - I hope it's a good turnout.

Have a good week

Ilkley Fell Race Versus Snake Lane 10!

Hello all

Is this a day to go down in club history? More people at a fell race than a road race? I think so! 16 Nidders (as we were described earier) turned out to brave the mud on the moors, and as I understand from Phil, there were lots of smiles coming in to the finish (well, that bit was down hill) and some excellent times. Well done to first timer fell queen Helen with her first fell running injuries!

However I must not be biased as there was a great turn out at Snake Lane and some amazing times there too. I think the interval training is paying off guys! Well done to absolutely everyone who raced this weekend, and don't forget to let us know your times so that you can be famous.

Talking of famous, did everyone notice that we are on the front page of the Advertiser this week? You have to squint hard at that picture but the one in the sports section is bigger! If anyone has any more pictures of Awards Night that would be suitable for publishing on the club web site please feel free to email them to me and I will forward to Mark the web master (who didn't win the prize for the biggest gloves on the racing circuit today Phil!). If you have a look at the web site you will notice that the 2011 club championship races are published there, both road and fell, so get your entries in quickly to avoid disappointment.

This week it's intervals as usual on Tuesday at Slingsby Walk again for mile repeats this time. Meet at the club to leave promptly at 7 or meet us at Slingsby for about ten past.

There will be a Sunday run this week hosted by me. Let's meet at Pannal Train station car park and do about 8 miles mainly off road from there. 9.30 start.

Well I think that's all for now folks, so happy running and see you on Tuesday.

Emma
